L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Tender Caramel: Review & Swatches

Time to share my favourite new eyeshadow with you! L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows are already one of my favourite drug store products, but this latest release has completely exceeded my expectations.

Introduced a few weeks ago as part of the Miss Candy collection, Tender Caramel is a stunning  taupe with a touch of rosiness and a streak of silver.

Apart from the name, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the collection which is made up of pastel brights, but it's easily the stand-out product.

I'm completely and utterly in love with the colour. It's one of those wonderful chameleon taupes that's almost undefinable. In some lights it has a strong mauve undertone, in others a golden sheen and so on. As usual the formula is phenomenal. Intense pigmentation, a lovely creamy texture and I wouldn't scoff at the claim of 24hr wear.

L-R: Tender Caramel, Sahara Treasure, Bronzed Taupe.

I compared it to two other Infallible eyeshadows that looked similar in the pan, but when swatched were worlds apart. I kept the picture because I think it shows how pink this eyeshadow is compared to brown and golden taupes. Just a note; I've found that label on the back of the Infallibles packaging is usually closer to the colouring of the swatched product than the appearance in the pan, so if in doubt and unable to test, take a look at that.

L-R: Tender Caramel, Burberry Rosewood, Rouge Bunny Rouge Solstice Halycon and Giorgio Armani ETK in Oxidised Silver.

I also compared it to a few of my favourite taupes. The L'Oreal products colouring is very, very similar to Burberry's Rosewood, but the finish is much more shimmery. Armani's Oxidised Silver has an identical finish, but the colour of that taupe leans much more towards purple.

Tender Caramel is an absolute must have, one of the best eyeshadows in the Infallible range and one of the prettiest taupes I own. I'm assuming it's a limited edition item, so if you haven't already I'd highly recommend nabbing one of these while you still can.

L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows retail for $19.95 and are available at Priceline and all the major department stores.

Do you own Tender Caramel or any of the other L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows?

    1. I have a soft spot for Emerald Lame, but this is a very close runner-up for me. It's definitely the most stunning neutral shade so far.

  4. I have Tender Caramel in my small Infallible collection - I also love Hourglass Beige from the core collection as a great everyday shade.
