Australis recently released 3 new glitter polishes inspired by space. I'm a big, big fan of Australis's glitter polishes so I was eager to snap them all up. So far I've only been able to find Milky Way, but you can see all 3 shades on Beauty with the Beautifool.
3 coats of Milky Way, 2 coats of Seche Vite
The name tells you everything you need to know about this polish. The galaxy known as the Milky Way is so named because it has a 'milky' appearance that makes it difficult to distinguish individual stars with the naked eye. Australis has recreated that in nail polish form, with a milky pale blue, semi opaque base filled with multicolored glitter. When layered, the base colour makes previous layers of glitter appear cloudy. Still visible, just noticeably toned down. I really love the effect, there's something sweet about the bold, loud multicolored glitter pieces being softly covered by a pretty pastel.
There's a generous amount of glitter in Milky Way. If you're just doing a single layer over another polish you'll probably need to dab the bigger pieces on, but otherwise it gives great glitter coverage. A fully opaque finish requires 3-4 coats, but the thin formula dries fast.
The best news is that none of these new releases are limited editions!
Milky Way retails for $7.95. Until the 11th all Australis cosmetics are $3 off at Priceline, so rush in to get a bargain!
Have you picked up any of Australis's new polishes yet? Planning to?
