Tom Ford Cheek Colour in Narcissist: Review & Swatches

So far I haven't had much of a chance to explore the Tom Ford line. I bought a couple of the original lipsticks when they were first released (and loved them), but due to the price point and the somewhat mixed reviews of many products, it's a brand I feel I really need to buy from a counter. Since I don't get to the CBD too often I've yet to build up a sizeable TF collection, even though every review and swatch I see from other bloggers tempts me horribly.

When I saw the promo pics for the Fall collection last year Narcissist just leaped out at me. I knew I'd have to risk splurging sight unseen.

I love the packaging of the Tom Ford line. It's classic, very masculine and just a little 70's inspired. The design of this blush compact is very simple but it looks and feels special and expensive (and so it should!).

At 8g the pan is relatively huge. NARS blushes are 4.8g and Chanel blushes are almost 6g for reference.

The colour is shockingly vivid. A medium hot pink, Narcissist is BRIGHT. Not quite neon, but not too far off. It is more cool than warm, but not overly blue based so I think it would suit many complexions. I haven't had a chance to compare it to any of my other pink blushes (that post will be coming soon), but other than some of my slightly crazy Illamasqua cream blushes I'm pretty sure it's the most saturated, in your face blush I own.

Which isn't to say it's hard to wear. The texture of this blush is perfection. It's probably the softest powder blush I've ever used. It feels more like a beautifully dense buttery eyeshadow. Just incredibly finely milled. Best of all it's a breeze to blend. Of all of the the bold blushes I own, this is is the easiest to apply. Of course you do need a light hand, but for such a bold colour I find it pretty foolproof.

Narcissist has a satin finish. It gives skin a very subtle, natural sheen. I sometimes find satin finishes accentuate all the little bumps and dry spots on my skin, but Narcissist actually seems to diffuse imperfections slightly.

Narcissist has quickly become one of my favourite blushes. The colour and quality are a dream come true and it's just one of those products that makes applying your make-up in the morning feel glamorous. I'm hugely impressed, and I can't wait to try more.

Tom Ford is available from selected David Jones in Australia. I purchased Narcissist from Harrods, where it retails for £45.00.

Have you tried anything from Tom Ford? Any recommendations for what I should try next?

  1. This is gorgeous! I think I'm going to be doing a Harrods order next week, but I'll severely be limiting my spending... not getting sucked into Burberry and Tom Ford as I'll go crazy!

  2. This is so pretty, but I feel like I would have to apply it with a light hand! I am dying to try one of Tom Ford's lipsticks, I would love to know which colours you'd recommend? :)

    1. I loved True Coral and Cherry Lush so much I actually finished the tubes. The other colours I had didn't make it into the new line-up, but all the pinkish nudes look amazing.
